The punk influences on this album are really what I need right now and the bass and drums really kick it into high gear. My taste in music change like the tide and fast, heavy, and loud is what I'm feeling, especially after the news today

I remember when this album first came out and loving the instrumentals but while relistening, I've really been drawn to the lyrics. Each song reflects a classic book, from Moby Dick to Watership Down, and do so through wonderful metaphor

Malta - Summer Dreamin'
God, I love my Japanese jazz fusion.
The groovy bass with the soft strings mesh so well. And the saxophone plays the melody incredibly. What Takanaka is to the guitar, Malta is to the saxophone. Perfect summer music!

Frail Body - Artificial Bouquet
While I was not a huge fan for the screechy vocals in this album (or in general), the instrumentals more than made up for it. The heavy distortion paired with a meaty bass really gave a lot of depth for my ears to dig through.

Dismal - MADE SINCERELY IN KENTUCKY
I enjoyed this album too. The drums and vocals really shine through the distorted guitar and the heavy rhythm almost forces you to nod your head and tap your foot.

I quite liked this album. The songs were very short, but I feel that it works with the abrasive sound and screaming vocals. Definitely could not play this around the grandparents

Porter Robinson - SMILE! :D
A recent review this time! This album encapsulates late night thoughts in its lyrics while changing the vibe with dance beats, which have that signature flair. While the synths can be overpowering and kinda offputting at times, they are a lot easier to get into compared to Worlds. Robinson brings in a lot more acoustic guitar, while still keeping a nice balance.

ISLAND - Yesterday Park
With the vibes of 2010's indie rock, ISLAND fills this album with the feelings of a good time fleeting away, the last minutes of a party. The simple soundscape of the songs leaves a bittersweet tone which is reflected in the lyrics, talking about looking back at the past while capturing the present.

Billy Joel - The Stranger
If you think of a Billy Joel hit, most likely it's on this album. It has both the pop favourites of 'Moving out' and 'Only the Good Die Young,' but also mellow songs like 'Vienna' which balances out the vibes. A perfect album to please everyone and their mom. Every time I have company over, this is getting put on because there's atleast one song that everybody can sing along to.

The Black Keys - El Camino
Taking their style and elevating it to arena levels, The Black Keys have created a raw yet light album. From the pop hits of 'Lonely Boy' to the teeth-gnawing 'Little Black Submarines,' this knocks it out of the park, without crowding your mind too much. A bigger, better 'Brothers.'

TWRP - Digital Nightmare
This album screams old internet, from the lyrics about chatrooms to the classic CDi synths. TWRP are like the perfect combination of Daft Punk and ELO, with enough funk and soul to get you to log out and dance around. I think this is their best work yet.
